Here's my take on the challenge:

I've been having the best time the last few days creating Easter basket tags.  Before I started, I decided not to have a plan other than I would use Easter-themed products and one tag would be inspired by the challenge.  I gathered up all the products I could find in my stash and just started putting things together.  I usually plan things out more, but I have to say, this really got my creativity flowing.  I had a chance to enjoy all my supplies and try some new things.  I highly recommend doing this sometime.  Just go into your craft room, grab all the things that catch your eye and start playing.  Here's a look at some other tags I made along with the supplies I used.  I have a "show-and-tell" video below that goes into more detail on how I assembled each tag.  Enjoy!

Video: Gift Tag Greetings: Holiday Cheer Part 6: Shaped and Layered Tags

Hi Everyone!

I hope you've enjoyed my gift tag series and have gotten some inspiration for your holiday projects.  This week, for my final project, I'll be doing some ink blending and heat embossing onto die cut snowflakes.  To add some fun layers, I'll be digging into my printed die cuts and stickers from Pinkfresh Studio and Crate Paper to add texture and color.  Scroll down for a video below showing my entire process including how I made my choices for embellishments.  I have all the products I used linked below for easy shopping.  Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

This week, I begin my first video in my Gift Tag Greetings: Holiday Cheer video series.  Just in time for the Holidays, this series is full of ideas if you're looking for new ways to decorate your packages.   Today,  it's all about glittery tags for your wine bottles.  They feature a fun little split die cut wine glass and are very easy to make in multiples.  See how I put these together in the video below.  Enjoy!

New Video Series: Gift Tag Greetings

Hi Everyone!

IMG_7168

I'm so excited to bring you my first YouTube series--it's called Gift Tag Greetings.  In these videos, I will be featuring weekly tutorials on creating gift tags for festive packaging throughout the year.  My plan is to have them run for 6 weeks at a time on Fridays.  Each set of videos will follow a particular theme.  This Friday will start the Holiday Cheer theme.  I'll be showing you all kinds of gift tags for this upcoming holiday season, so be sure to subscribe to my channel to get all the latest updates.  Other themes I plan to do in the future will include birthday, Valentine's Day, cooking...etc.  I'm always up for suggestions too, so let me know if there's something specific you'd like me to feature.  My tag style is like my card making style, clean and simple with pops of color and lots of die cuts.  In today's post and video, I wanted to share with you some things I like to have on hand as part of a gift tag making kit.  I have this listed below too, with some links to suggested products.  Enjoy!

Gift tags have always been a favorite of mine.  They're a quick and easy way to dress up an otherwise plain gift bag or package.  Plus, you can use all the fun dimensional embellishments you have on hand without worrying about the constraints of an envelope.  Another bonus:  Your friends will love that they can "recycle" your tag on another gift!

Tag 2

I create my tags using metal dies, but you could also use a stencil or template if you do not have a die cutting machine. Whatever you use, I recommend  110 lb. or higher weight cardstock to make a sturdy tag.  Here is a list of some gift tag making supply suggestions.  Keep in mind, these are only suggestions--pick and choose what works for you.  The idea is to try to use what you have on hand in your cardmaking/scrapbooking stash.
