Last summer, I posted a video on a planner I had altered and was using to keep track of my daily activities. I said I had “planner peace”, but then after awhile, I kind of changed my mind……I felt like it was a little too big to carry around in a purse and if I can’t do that, it’s not as useful to me. I also did not like the fact that I couldn’t remove the pages to write on them, so a lot of times, it would look kind of messy inside with my writing.
Then, late last year, I saw that Me and My Big Ideas had come out with a Happy Planner in mini size. I have always liked the main set up of the standard size Happy Planners. I love the colorful options you have for the inside and the fact that you can remove the pages easily and pop them back in again without having to open and close rings. It’s so cheerful and has all those great coordinating stickers. My only issues were that it was a little too big for carrying around in my purse and the covers they come with were not as sturdy as I would have liked. Also, for the weekly set-up, I thought I had wanted separate vertical sections for family members on each day rather than one big vertical or horizontal rectangle for the entire day.
Once the "mini" came out, I decided to take another look. Because, honestly, if I can’t take it along with me, I’ll never use it. I saw that you could purchase sturdy outside covers for them and they easily fit in your purse with the same style as the larger happy planners. I gave it a try and purchased the Soft Geos 2018 Happy Planner at Michaels. I altered this one a little and used it for January to see how I liked it.
It's been working out really great, so, I’ll show you how I set it up for February if you’re looking for some ideas.
Here is a video that takes you through the process. Enjoy! Just a note: I’m not affiliated with Me and My Big Ideas, the company that makes the Happy Planner-- I’m just a happy customer who enjoys the product......
