A couple of months ago, that Hobby Lobby end cap got me again! :)I couldn't resist this adorable floral tin recipe box from the Petals and Blooms Collection. I had no idea what I would do with it, but I knew I would think of something. Cut to last week, and I thought of it--a card sketch library! I had been wanting to turn some of the cards I've created into sketches so I could refer back to them when I needed some inspiration. I usually start with a product when I create, so a sketch is a great place to get your creativity flowing. I also included some other card reference materials including a techniques section as well as a section on design principles.
Since the box held 4x6 cards, I replaced the recipe cards included in the box with these Project Life grid cards from Becky Higgins. Perfect for sketches!
I made new labels to cover the dividers using my label maker.....
...and got to work on my sketches.
I had a little walk down memory lane when I was adding a "design principles" section. I still have a few of these magazines saved and go back to them sometimes just to flip through.
