I made an additional card using the same Copics I used in my first project.  I did some simple masking of flowers from Mudra's Linen Blooms and colored those in.  Then, I backed my floral panel with a square cut from one of the Kat Scrappiness Cross-Stitched square dies.  I love that little bit of unexpected detail and texture it gives.  I embossed the card base with an embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers called Woven.

Coloring With Spectrum Noir Pens

Hello Everyone!

Wow!  Time has gotten away from me and I'm so glad to get back into my craft room to create. The Card Concept had a great inspiration photo this week.  I have been doing so many bright colors lately, I was excited to try something a little more light and airy.  The colors of this inspiration photo were so pretty,  I decided to use those along with the butterflies to create a clean and simple card.

I wanted to do some kind of white, fluffy pattern against a blue card to mimic the white flowers in the photo and the blue vase.  I originally thought of clouds.  But then, I thought butterflies would most likely be flying around flowers rather than up in the clouds, so I pulled out a stamp set from Hampton Arts. It includes these gorgeous, large, solid flowers that I thought would be perfect for the look I was going for.  I heat embossed them as a border with white embossing powder and then scattered the colorful butterflies all around.

The butterflies are from Papertrey Ink's You Are a Masterpiece card kit.  To color them, I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.  I use this technique quite a bit to add a watercolor look with some shimmer at the same time.  It's nice because the pens  have a a large color variety so you can add shading.

For the sentiment, I've been using a new favorite from My Favorite Things called Boss Babe.  I really like the font and the cute sayings from this set.  To make the sentiment stand out a little more, I first stamped it with Brilliance Ink in Moonlight White, then stamped it again a little offset with black dye ink.

Paper Smooches March Release Projects--Big Hugs

Hi Everyone!

I'm back today with more cards from the March Paper Smooches release.  I've been getting a ton of great coloring practice using the cute little animal stamps.  They've been so much fun to work with!

For this first card, I used the Huge Hugs stamps and dies as well as a sentiment from Huge Hugs 2.  The background paper is from Crate Paper's Oasis 6x6 paper pad.

Big Hugs-Kim

For this next card, I cut the base down to about 4 1/4" x 4 " and mixed both old and new products.  I used the Huge Hugs and Huge Hugs 2 stamps along with the Power Rays die and Quote Tag die for the talk bubble.

Tremendous Day-Kim

To color the rays, I used a large sponge dauber to blend the various oranges from my Miraclekoo orange striped ink pad.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Hi Everyone!

I'm joining in the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge for this week.  The challenge was to use colored pencils on our cards either on kraft or dark cardstock.  I was looking forward to using the colored pencils I've had for so long, but never tried LOL!  I chose to use a Smokey Shadow backdrop along with the stamp sets, Life is Beautiful and Happy Trails

MIM

The color really does look more vibrant on the darker paper and I really like how it turned out.  I will definitely be pulling out my pencils again to experiment.
