Today's challenge for My Favorite Things' Camp Create is to create a card with an interactive slider element. This is a new to me project because I really don't tend to do anything interactive on a card other than maybe make a pocket for a gift card. Because of this, I don't own any types of products to create movement on my cards. I was able to put something together though, that I think works pretty well and uses the things that I already own. Always a good thing, right? :).
I'll take you through the steps to create this card:
I first cut out a frame using some paper from Tiny Check: Brights and the Inside and Out Stitched Rectangles from My Favorite Things. I used the first two largest rectangles.
I adhered the frame to another frame cut with heavier cardstock to give it some strength. I also used the second largest rectangle to cut out a piece of paper from the Plaids 6x6 pad. This is the backdrop to the gift card.
I adhered the plaid piece to the front of a white notecard and put my "gift card" over it.
Next, I put foam tape around my frame leaving one end without it. This will be where the slider goes.
I then adhered the frame over the top of the plaid piece on the front of the card.
To create the slider, I cut out a piece of white cardstock with the second largest Inside Out Stitched Rectangle and adhered a file tab from Blueprints 9 to it.
I decorated it with all kinds of coffee embellishments from MFT.
I then tucked it into the frame so it covers the gift card completely.
You can then, pull the coffee cup or the tab to reveal the gift card!
I put a quick little video on my Instagram to show you how it works. Click here to take a peek.
