Hi Everyone! Today I have a card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.
I find color inspiration in all kinds of interesting places. For this card, I got the color scheme from a cartoon one of my kids was watching where the mom had these brightly colored rollers in her hair. Very strange, I know, but I always have a notepad near by to jot down color schemes or design ideas when I see them. You never know.....:)
I started off with a piece of white cardstock I cut down to fit the front of a notecard with just a little frame all around it. I heat embossed MFT's Floral Fantasy background stamp in white on the front and then masked off diagonal lines with Post-It Tape. I ink blended my color choices to make the stripes from the sketch.
I liked the way the stripes looked, but I felt like I needed more interest.
I decided to cut apart the stripes and rearrange them on the front of a white card base raising the 2 middle stripes up on 2 layers of foam tape.
I stamped a sentiment from Boss Babe, down the middle at an angle and added a couple of hearts for interest.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
