I'm joining in with this week's Make it Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink. This week, the challenge was to make a card incorporating a background of watercolor. I wanted to use my new Prima watercolors, so here's what I came up with:
I started with a panel of watercolor paper and stamped a sentiment from Pen & Ink on the front with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on top and heat embossed it to create a resist for my watercolors. I layered a few colors of watercolor over the sentiment and let it dry. After it dried, I cut the panel out at an angle and attached it to a white notecard with foam tape. I arranged some flowers around the sentiment from PTI's Brushed Blooms stamp set.
Here's a picture of the inside. Another sentiment from Pen & Ink.
I played it safe this time with the paint since I'm still learning. That's what I like about the Papertrey Ink Monday challenges, they give you a nice jumping off point to try out some new things!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
