Paper Smooches-March Release Projects-Whale Done!

Hi Everyone!

I'm back today with some more cards for my current Guest Design spot over at Paper Smooches

My first card features the new stamp set and coordinating dies from Huge Hugs along with a sentiment from Huge Hugs 2.  For the water, I masked off a simple stripe and blended some Memento Luxe Bahama Blue ink.  I finished it off with some stars from the Stars die set.

For my next card, I used the Cat Dog Card Dies set to create this cute little leopard.

PS post use this

The spots are actually an overlay from this We R Memory Keepers pad called Clearly Posh.  The pad contains these acetate sheets with different prints on them.

You could use any type of patterned paper though, or even a background stamp.  Tiger stripes would be cute too!
To make the base, I lined up the cat ears die to the very top of a folded 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 notecard I cut from kraft cardstock.  You want to make sure you don't go over, or you might cut off part of the ears.
I then cut a piece of  the acetate leopard spot paper 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" using the same die only with a single layer just to cover the front of the card.
To adhere it to the card base, I strategically placed medium sized glue dots behind a few of the spots to hide the adhesive.
The cute little eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers completed the look.  To make the whiskers look more realistic, I used vellum.  Stick It adhesive helped to adhere them easily.
